Providing relief for those in distress is one of the most important noble values encouraged by Islam.
When a disaster strikes, relief teams come to the aid of the affected and injured, help heal their wounds, console them, and provide food, clothing, and medicine. All of this requires resources, and this is the Islamic humanitarian spirit that we seek to support through this Waqf.
Allah says in the Qur’an, “And whoever saves a life, it is as if he saved the life of all mankind" (Al-Ma’idah: 32).
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), said, “Whoever relieves a believer of the distress of this world, God will relieve him of distress of the Day of Resurrection” (Hadith, Sahih Muslim).
The Prophet (peace be upon him) also said, “Allah has servants whom He has chosen to meet people’s needs. He has endeared them to goodness and He has made goodness beloved to them. They are safe from God’s punishment on the Day of Resurrection.”
