There is no charity greater in reward than waterHadith, Al Albani
When you donate a Water Waqf Share, your full contribution is pooled with those of other generous donors, we then invest the total pooled amount in a low-risk, Sharia-compliant manner. The returns from this investment are then used to fund water and sanitation projects around the world. But the impact doesn't stop there. A portion of the returns is reinvested, ensuring the perpetual effect of Waqf meaning your donation continues to make a positive difference indefinitely, providing clean water and improved sanitation to communities in need for generations to come.
We implement irrigation, water filteration system and well projects around the world in Asia, Africa and in countries with severe water poverty such as Gaza, Pakistan, Somalia and Sudan.
We provide entire communities with access to toilets, wudu areas, and running water, by managing human waste properly, we stop deadly diseases like diarrhoea and cholera from spreading quickly and save thousands of lives.
We provide hygiene packs to women and girls as well as access to clean water and toilets, giving them the gender equality they deserve. With clean water mothers can give birth safely and with dignity.
Access to clean water is an urgent need in many communities. About a quarter of the planet's population (two billion people) use polluted water for drinking and other water needs.
This kills more than 840,000 a year as a result of waterborne illnesses. Your donation could make a life-saving difference.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that the best charity is “giving water.” In one narration, a prostitute was forgiven after she gave water to a dog. And in another, the importance of quenching the thirst of every living being is emphasised. Water is mentioned multiple times in the Qur’an, and in reference to the stories of a number of prophets.
The opportunity to contribute to the digging of wells, establishing water sources, building canals or filtering polluted water to help save lives is a gift to society and if done as an act of charity brings great spiritual rewards. It is considered one of the deeds whose impact extends to society and whose reward doubles for the one who goes good due to it being a form of ongoing charity.
There is a reward for the donor in every sip of water, for every ablution the water is used for, and for every benefit it brings to for people, plants, animals and the planet.
Donations from this Waqf will be invested in a variety of diverse projects that comply with Shariah principles, and proceeds and revenues will be spent in areas that our other Waqf may not cover.
Through this Waqf we seek investments that generate returns that can be used to support self-sufficiency and sustainability for communities, building their resilience in the face of conflict, hardship and other disasters. Your donations will contribute to supporting communities on an ongoing basis.
